In a world where sustainability and environmental protection are becoming increasingly important, innovative solutions are needed to lead the fashion industry down the green path. One of these exciting innovations is rhubarb leather, an environmentally friendly new option that not only conserves resources, but also impresses in terms of quality and aesthetics.

The tanning agents used for tanning can be extracted from the roots of rhubarb. The rhubarb roots used come from regional cultivation. It was important to us to use a local and uncomplicated plant for the raw materials. In addition to the rhubarb, the cattle hides also come from Germany, which are then further processed in a tannery in Bavaria.
For ecological reasons, we keep transport routes as short as possible. Rhubarb is a renewable raw material and leather is biodegradable. After tanning, the plant residues are returned to the ecological cycle through composting. The result is a sustainable product in every respect: rhubarb leather®

COMPLETELY CHEMICAL-FREE - PARTICULARLY ALLERGY-FRIENDLY
The vegetable tanning with rhubarb does not use chrome salts or heavy metals. This makes the leather particularly skin-friendly and breathable. The European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation (ECARF) has therefore certified it, as it is also ideally suited for (chrome) allergy sufferers. It is therefore ideal for products that come into direct contact with the skin, such as our camera straps.
The feel and smell of rhubarb leather are also particularly pleasant. The structure of the cowhide is retained, while the leather is particularly soft and supple, making it extremely comfortable to wear. Experts refer to this as the "cashmere effect". In addition, rhubarb leather® smells more subtle and sweeter than conventionally tanned leather. All this makes rhubarb leather® a high-quality, special and simply unique product.
